Wednesday, May 28, is a day set aside to remind everyone that you can be active no matter your age. Always set for the last Wednesday in May, National Senior Health & Fitness Day® is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for older adults. This 21st annual event will see 100,000 older adults participating in activities at more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S.
What happens if you get hurt and can’t tell the doctors how to care for you? Do you want them to do everything possible to save you or let you die peacefully? An advance directive is a form that you fill out to describe the kinds of medical care you want to have if something happens to you and you can’t speak for yourself. It tells your family and your doctor what to do if you’re badly hurt or have a serious illness that keeps you from saying what you want.
Health care reform has led to lots of questions and some confusion with plans now being offered on the Marketplace. But it might seem like there hasn’t been a lot of discussion about how the Marketplace has affected Medicare. I think it’s time we answer that question.
