We have very exciting news to share with you, dear reader.
This prestigious recognition showcases organizations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior.
A total of 132 companies made the list this year.
How it works
The World’s Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient™ framework, which grades companies based on scores in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35%); reputation, leadership and innovation (10%); governance (15%); corporate citizenship and responsibility (20%); and culture of ethics (20%).
What it all means
Ethics & Compliance Program
This is the term used to describe the rules, regulations, and structure that WPS abides by on a daily basis. We work hard to provide services to you responsibly and transparently. We have a mandated way of conducting business and caring for our members. Since we follow these procedures every day, it’s second nature for us to do the right thing.
Reputation, Leadership, and Innovation
WPS has a tradition of excellence in Wisconsin that makes our members glad to be a part of WPS and our employees proud to work here. Sure that sounds like a shameless plug for our services, but the people of Wisconsin say we’re more than good. We have a reputation as a leader in the health insurance industry.
WPS has a well-defined and enforced corporate governance structure that works for the benefit of everyone concerned by ensuring that we adhere to accepted ethical standards and best practices, as well as to formal laws. What does that mean to you? We strictly follow the rules; it’s as simple as that.
Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility
Did you know: WPS is not only focused on our customers’ health? We also care about the health of the communities we call home. That’s why WPS actively supports community organizations including United Way, The Salvation Army, Operation Fan Mail, Komen Madison Race for the Cure, American Red Cross, The American Heart Association, and many more.
At the heart of our corporate responsibility efforts is the WPS Code of Conduct, a guiding document that embodies our core values. WPS employees bring corporate values to life through dedication, expertise, and hard work. This ensures that we achieve the highest standards for corporate citizenship, including social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and ethical conduct.
Culture of Ethics
WPS is not-for-profit, calling Wisconsin home for the last 68 years. We make decisions based on what’s right for our members, not for Wall Street or special interest groups. Our mission is simply this: to provide health and life insurance and benefit plan administration to private and government customers with service and value our customers consider the very best.
See? It’s fantastic that we have won this award again in 2015, but after reviewing the criteria … it’s not really a surprise, is it?
