May 8 is the birthday of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement founder, Henry Dunant and it is on this day that we recognize the local and global impact of the Red Cross mission. Here in the U.S., the American Red Cross has been helping people in communities large and small for more than 130 years.

I have to admit, I usually think of my doctor only when I make an appointment for various aches, pains, and symptoms: appointments to check for strep throat or a sports injury or an earache. If I’m feeling fine, I don’t think about my doctor much at all. But I need to change my mindset, because I’ve been doing it wrong all these years.
